Dr. Michael Salinas
A native Floridian, Dr. Salinas was born and raised in Naples, Florida, and performed his undergraduate schooling in Miami, where he received a degree in opticianry. Dr. Salinas graduated with honors and was part of the Phi Theta Kappa honor society. He then went on to the Southern College of Optometry, in Memphis, Tennessee, where he received special recognition in the areas of ocular disease and optical dispensing.
He first began practicing in the Tri-City area in Tennessee. There he was part of a large multi-physician practice specializing in primary eye care. After moving to Orlando, Dr. Salinas practiced in a refractive surgery referral center. There Dr. Salinas worked alongside one of the most experienced refractive surgeons in the nation. The experience he gained helped him begin his own practice, Eye Associates of Orlando, P.A.
Dr. Salinas has always enjoyed treating a wide range of cases on a daily basis. But what keeps him coming to the office each day for almost 20 years as if it were the first day of opening his practice? It’s the relationships he builds with his patients. It is not enough for his patients to know him. It is even more important for him to know his patients. He prides himself on his gift of remembering his patients not only on a yearly basis in the exam room but also recognizing and chatting with them around town.
His family is Dr. Salinas’ one true hobby. He as been blessed with a lovely wife and two beautiful children. He enjoys cheering for his daughter and son at various school and sporting events. As an optometric physician, he is a very proud member of the American Optometric Association and the local Central Florida Optometric Society.
Lisa Salinas
Behind every great doctor is an equally great office manager, and anyone who has met Lisa Salinas knows that she is the glue that holds the business together.
Lisa serves many roles at Eye Associates of Orlando. Not only is she Dr. Salinas sister – making Eye Associates of Orlando a true family business – she is also the acting office manager and resident optician. Lisa brings more than 24 years of experience in the optical business, holding previous positions as optical manager and optical regional director of operations prior to joining the family business.
Lisa is a graduate of Edison State College in Florida and Miami Dade College where she received her degrees. Her education and wealth of experience are evident in every aspect of the business, including her personal touch that she gives to each and every patient, making certain you receive optimal care at Eye Associates of Orlando.
When she is not working at Eye Associates of Orlando, Lisa enjoys her passion for cooking and sewing and loves to help others with any and all of their design needs. Lisa also loves college football and is not afraid to share her love of the Georgia Bulldogs!
